Is it possible to hire an English speaking tango teacher for private lessons/ classes that I can schedule ahead of a visit to Buenos Aires? From my reading on the tango scene, it sounds like foreigners aren't taken into the fold as dance partners, so I'd have to take classes to get to know potential other foreigners to dance with if I want to dance at milangos. Is this an accurate assessment? I'm trying to weigh the value of traveling or not to BA for the purpose of really learning to dance tango.
Thanks so much!
This guy is mind blowingly good: http://alejandropuerta.com/
Honestly, I can't describe what a total pro and complete gentleman Alejandro is. His understanding of the entire tango culture is astounding. His studio is small and intimate. His price is more than fair.
I rarely rant and rave about anything, but he's in a class of his own.
Have fun, it's a fabulous city for a dancer.
Thank you so much for the referral. I'll get in touch with him right away. Fingers crossed!
Thank you! I've arranged to take lessons from Alejandro while I'm there this summer. He has already been a tremendous help to me. I can't thank you enough for helping me to create this trip that I'm so looking forward to.
You are going to fall in love with his approach to dance in general and tango in particular. He really is one in a million.
Have a gas!
Awesome. I like him already. He's been so attentive to detail in his answers to my questions, going above and beyond, providing me with info I didn't know I needed. He seems like a genuine treasure. I'm sure the dance instruction will be fabulous. Definitely looking forward to meeting him in person.
