Hviezdoslavovo namestie - sculpture

I saw a brown sculpture on Hviezdoslavovo namestie, the girl with doe. Would somebody explain to me the basic facts about it. Thanks on advance.

I liked this statue very much when I visited Bratislava. I thought I'd taken its photo, but I can't find it on my Bratislava pages, so maybe the photo didn't come out.

The sandstone sculpture in the fountain may be of the goddess Diana with a deer or it may be an illustration of a folk tale by the Brothers Grimm, 'Brüderlein und Schwesterlein', where the boy turns into a doe when he drinks from a well. Its name in Slovak is 'Dievča so srnkou'

It was created in 1938 by Alojz Rigele and finished in 1942 by Robert Kühmayer. It was originally intended to stand in Petrzalka park but, as it was completed during Nazi occupation, that was not possible and it was placed on Hviezdoslavovo Namestie. It was removed for a while in the 1990s but was put back in its original position, complete with a new pedestal, in 1999.

(with thanks to google translate :-) )
