hi, there are plenty of shops in Bratislava. Go to Tesco in Kamenne namestie or to Eurovea when you are in the centre. Also a few shops in Obchodna ulica (street) are on walking distance.

Like Katamorgana, I'm sure you'll find a dress and boots (I think that is what you mean by 'knee length shoes?) at Eurovea. It's a huge shopping mall with lots and lots of shops, within walking distance from the city centre (or you can take a bus):

If you want something a bit cheaper, or a bit more unusual, there are several dress and shoe shops along Obchodna including a couple of 'discount' clothing shops.

I think the The Desire Shop sells luxurious women evening wear and party dresses, it's the street Obchodná ulica 22 in the ROYKO passage. I couldn't find any shops near Bratislava that sells knee-high shoes.

Obchodna ulica is a street only a few tens of meters from The Crowne Plaza Hotel to the South. You do not have to use a bus ;)

Katamorgana is absolutely right. Obchodna Ulica is very central...just put into googlemaps and you'll see exactly where it is!

Whether you need to take a bus or tram depends on your starting point, but if you are staying in the centre of Bratislava I'm sure you are perfectly capable of getting there on foot. It's not far from anywhere, and it's not a particularly long street.

You'll find boots in Eurovea and on Obchodka Ulica as well as in various other shoe shops dotted about the city centre, of course.
