Hello! If it is for a day or a half, I recommend you Devin district with a castle on the hill. It is still in Bratislava. Also if you put priority to central area, there are nice parks near Presidential palace.

Yes, local bus goes there, it takes maybe 30 minutes. Bus goes from Novi most bridge station. Station is under the bridge on old town side.

You will be perfectly safe whatever you choose and your 3-year-old will be happy to see and do anything as long as he is with his mother, warm and well-fed.

If you do not wish to travel outside the city you could simply enjoy wandering around Bratislava's old town. There is plenty to see, explore and enjoy:

If the weather is too poor for walking the old town (or going to Devin) you might go to Eurovea, a huge, new and very attractive shopping and entertainment complex:

Hi, The Presidential garden is a good suggestion. Leic´s wandering by the Old Centre with visiting Eurovea is worth too (J, I remember our cup of coffee ;).
IMO, one can spend a few days walking by the streets of The Old Town without being bored. Also watching boats on the Danube could be good for your child.
If you want, you can cross the Danube by "Novy most" - the bridge with UFO to a large park. There is AUPARK shopping centre behind the park with attractions for children too.

I am not sure, if Devin would be attractive enough for your baby, even if I love the place.
I would recommend ZOO instead. It is not too large, but interesting, with a "Dino Park" including.

Oh, I have almost forgotten, If the weather is good and it is not foggy, go up to the castle, and enjoy yourself by the beautiful view.

I really enjoyed Eurovea, Kate...it's a very pleasant shopping centre and that cafe terrace is a lovely spot for river-watching. :-)

I have got another advices - a park with a playground on the roof of Central

There is a children cinema avion.sk/en-gb/for-families/... in the Avion shopping park, but it is a bit out of the centre. You can get there also by bus avion.sk/about-the-centre/ho...

There's a huge amount of space to run around and a children's playground in the garden/park behind Grassalkovich Palace, pretty much the city centre:

Or how about taking a train trip (your son would love that) to lovely Piest'any? It's a very easy trip, with regular trains from Bratislava Hlavna Stanica station:

Piest'any is a very pleasant small town and has acres of space, trees and walks on 'Spa Island', a river-with-ducks and some 'smelly' pools (spa water):
