Storing Your Luggage at Logan Airport
Oh, brother! It’s hard enough trying to find a place to store your luggage in Boston while you wait for a flight but what if you have to do it overnight? There aren’t a lot of options but if there are any, the members of Trippy.com will find them! In this scenario, we try to figure out how to hold the luggage of someone who will be leaving Logan Airport at night and coming back the following morning. And yes, if you’re doing the math, that means they’re planning on staying the night in Logan Airport. Not a great situation but our members may have some alternative ideas.
Storing your luggage at Logan Airport:
“This is what I did last year when I was in a similar situation: go to South Station. Sort of at the back of the building, on the second floor, adjacent to the parking deck, there's a luggage storage place, part of Greyhound, called Package Express. It was something like $5 per bag for the day. However, I recall them having regular business hours. No one is going to store bags overnight.”
“There's nothing at the airport, unfortunately. Package Express at the South Station bus terminal will store your bags for $10 each, but they close at 8PM.”
“There are lockers in the main terminal (at South Station) IF you are traveling by AMTRAK. If not, there are public lockers on the fifth floor of the Bus Terminal, but goods cannot be left overnight. For specifics, you can phone 617.330.1230.”
“There is a Package Express Office. You can contact them at 617.526.1810.”
Of course, where there’s a will, there’s a way and this is one way you can make sure your luggage is safe if you can’t get to Package Express in time:
“Maybe one of the airport hotel concierges would hold your bags for you, (especially if you are a member of their frequent guest program)?
And just in case you’re thinking about spending the night at Logan Airport:
“Logan is an awful airport in which to spend a night. It'll end up being a really, really long, miserable night. Consider getting a cheap hotel. There are some reasonable ones north of the airport, in Revere. Try an opaque site like Priceline or Hotwire. That would also solve your luggage problem. I don't know that security would even allow your luggage into Fenway.”
