Hello!!! As you said, the comments about safety in this areas are always very 2 sides of the coin. But traveling alone as a woman in arab towns is very different than be with a male partner or a group... so my question is, how safe you think is this town for myself???
Bethlehem is one of the safest cities in the westbank and has quite a lot of tourism. No need to worry at all. Enjoy.
There's no problem in Bethleem or in any other Palestinian town. You'll meet other Western women there. Just dress modestly.
Bethlehem is not a dangerous place for a woman traveling alone.
The place is full of single tourists, there is as well a lot of local girls going alone.

The website has a lot of info about Bethlehem.
Dress appropriately. Do not wear suggestive clothing, and if you want to play it safe, cover up your neck with a scarf. It is not a dangerous town, but if trouble arises in Jerusalem and the Israelis deem it necessary, they will shut off civilian access back into Israel, leaving you temporarily stranded in the West Bank until everything settles back down into its proper place. I would not want to be a woman, traveling alone, when this happens.
