Belarus plan to abolish visas. Details are unclear - procedure, criteria and list on nationality.
But what we know - you travel to belarus to visit Avgustov Canal. Cross border thru the folowing border point: Poland -Lesnaya(Rudawka), Bruzgi(Kuznica Bialostocka); Lithuania - Privalka(Švendubrė), Privalka (Raigardas) Stay no longer than 5 days. You can visit only area of Grodno and part of grodno region.
Pricedure, creteria and other detail must be defined within 2 month.
Ok i have read a lot of different thing on this.
When i mailed the Belarus embassy in Latvia and Finland i got the same answer. "There is no need for invitation letter". and both linked to a document.
But then i asked a followup question, something like this: "Will it be easier to get the VISA accepted if i have an invitation letter, even tho i don't need one?"
And the answer was then: "Yes in some cases"
You don't need an invitation letter if your stay for less then 30 days, but having one can make a lot of difference.
So with other words: Have one regardless if you need one or not!
(This post is only made for info to other visa applicants, so no question asked by me here)
Since Forex and all other exchange companies don't sell this Belarusian ruble BYN (Old was BYR) i need to have something else (In case of an emergency mostly and stores that don't take Visa card)
But what currency will i be able to use the most in stores etc? USD or EUR?
And i think that something around 500USD or 450EUR will be a good emergency amount for my 9 days visit.
A few weeks ago I made some hotel reservation in Minsk, and the owner decided to send me invitation. He demanded advanced payment. I decided to wait and check other options. I decided to apply (today) for 10 day VISA (no invitation). I booked a room at Garni Hotel for 9 days and applied with their confirmation (signed and stamped).
The guy from previous hotel asked me today for money. I cancelled that reservation and he threatens me to go to Embassy (which?) and that I will not get any VISA. The thing is that I never applied with his invitation, never mentioned him in my today's application. I sent Garni reservation. Is it realistic that some guy can go to Embassy and tell them not to give me any VISA because I did not want to stay with him and now he wants to cancel his invitation ? Perhaps he thinks I wanted to apply for a VISA with his invitation and then cancel it without payment. But I never did anything like that. I never used his invitation.
What do you think?
Flying from US to Russia, then to Crimea, Belarus, Russia and US. Will I need a visa for Belarus as well as Russia?
My wife is currently in Belarus on a tourist visa that expire in a few days. Her father, who lives in Minsk, is very ill and she would like to extend her visa. Is it possible to accomplish this in 2-3 business days? Should she do it from Minsk or should I contact the consulate in the US?
I am from Greece and I want to visit Belarus for 3 days and stay in an apartment but most of them does not offer Visa support. I will need to get the Visa at Minsk airport since there is no consulate here. I have read that invitation letter may not be necessary for EU citizens? Is that true? In case that I need an invitation letter, do you know any agency that can provide cheap visa support (invitation letter) for my case?
Thank you in advance!
Hi all..i wanna learn if theres a club with Just TECHNO music..need some help..thxx
I am from migration secure country, and now I am in Belarus, I realize I need 1 year multiple entry visa for Belarus, how to find those company(s) can offer this invitation support, please advice.
I hope someone can clarify something for me. I want to visit a friend and his family in Minsk in May.
Last year I have already been to Minsk on a tourist visa and got all the necesarry papers from the tourist company.
This time I want to rent an apartment and spend most of the time with my friend and his family.
I have searched the internet about the invitation letter and every website says something different.
According to some website I wouldn't need an invitation letter to apply for a visa (becauser I am from a secure migration state), but most say I do need to get one.
So is there anyone who already has experience with this situation and knows the answer?
Are there camping places in Belarus. How can I stay with my camper (Mercedes Sprinter) in Belarus.
Or do i have to stay on Truck Places

What is the best transport from Bulgaria to Brest? I'm planning to go maybe at february or march 2015. I'd like to stay for a couple of days and I'm looking for some nice place (hotels/apartments) to stay. Could you give me some advise for places and things to do like cultural sights, restaurant, cafes and other.
Thank you for your help
My visa is 30 days Visa on дзелавыя стасункі (Business Relations), I have no inviter, no invitation letter needed because I'm from migration-secure states for Belarus 30 days visa. I prepare to enter Belarus on Tuesday, possible entry in Brest or Grodno by train.
Question 1: Are you sure I can buy the obligatory medical insurance from "Beleximgarant" (the cheaper company) at these border entries ?
2. My entry is on Tuesday, So the next Tuesday I need to do registration ? within 5 business days includes 2 days weekend ? This time I want to stay in private place rather than expensive hotels/hostels, (but at my last time in Blearus, in Grodno foreign registration office, a staff said you need your inviter to do registration) but I have no inviter for my visa, any advices for my intended private registration ?
3. I have intention to extend my visa in Belarus but I can't find clear rules for visa extension in Citizenship and Migration Department, can I just get a private person to invite me staying for the visa extension ? Keep in mind My visa is 30 days Visa дзелавыя стасункі (Business Relations).
4. By the way, is there an online trip planner for Minsk local transport even the other Belarus cities, so that I can find what bus, tram to take to get to where I want to go ?
Thanks in advance.
I am going from Poland to Belarus in Feb 2015 and need a visa. The transit visa is good for 48 hours according to the Belarus Embassy website.
I plan to stay 1 night in Brest and 1 night in Minsk before leaving to Lithuania.
Does the transit visa allow you to stop off like this or is it expected that you are travelling (i.e. on a bus or train) for the 48 hours?
As I have it, we plan to enter on Thursday at 2pm and exit on Saturday at 10am
somewhere in October a friend and I had the crazy plan to visit Belarus. I finally figured out the procedure to obtain a visa for tourists but I have a few questions left.
We're on a budget so we plan to stay in hostels, certainly in Minsk. Can hostels provide you with the invitation letter I need for the visa ?
We'd like to do a 'trip (2 days)' to Chernobyl, because we both love urban photography. I already know that I don't need a visa for Ukraine but if I return to Belarus (we were planning to hire a car to do this trip so we have to bring it back), can I use the same visa then ?
Thank you in advance and all other information is welcome !!!!
I am tourist in belarus but i want to go poland. Right now i want to know how i go to poland?
I have been agonising over a trip to Pinsk Belarus from Bialystok Poland to visit my grandmother's grave and see old friends.
I will staying in Poland with relatives in August this year and the only safe way was by train which would have taken 12-14 hours!!!
But today I was informed by Belarussin friends that starting from 1st May 2014,
direct bus from Pinsk to Bialystok.
Goes once a fortnight on friday late evening and on saturday Bialystok late night.
One week goes to Bialystok, the other week goes to White Podlasie.
This is a Belarussian Bus Service.
I arrive in Belarus Saturday in the morning. That day I stay in a hostel and they will process my registration for that day. The remaining days I will stay with private individuals (Couchsurfing). I am trying to decide my plan... where to go, when to leave the country, etc.... but I am struggling with the absence of information... one thing is for sure... I don't want to ask people to waste their time taking care of paperwork for me, so I will have to leave whenever a new registration becomes mandatory.
I am aware I have 5 business days until I need to register with the police. But in this case, because I will stay first night in hostel... is it the same... 5 business from Sunday? This brings me to another question... these days... is it inclusive or exclusive? Because if it's inclusive I should leave Friday BUT if it's exclusive, I can leave only next Sunday.
I have a partial Belarus address that I need to complete including post code. and which city/ town is it near?
The address is:
Molodechnen.d-t, Vytrepovsh., Str. Komsom. 15
Any help much appreciated.
I am going to Minsk in may (visa free since I have a hockey ticket). I was wondering if I can take a day trip to Russia (I will get a Russian visa) and then come back to Belarus legally. On the one hand Russia and Belarus have no border controls but on the other hand it is a second entry to belarus. Is travelling between Russia and Belarus considered "single entry" since they seem to have some border agreement?
Thx a lot!
Not a question - a notice.
The border guards of Belarus have released a statement according to which any guests visiting Belarus in May visa-free will have to declare their passport, ticket and (!) the local registration (the latter must be processed within 5 business days by the tourist if not staying at hotels that process registration automatically).
Well, this is obviously a measure taken by the government to tackle booking.com apartments that do not offer registration. This all is going to be a lot of fun!
I want to travel to Belarus with a friend and would like to know:
1.) How can I get the visa in the cheapest possible way (we are Austrian citizens)?
2.) Which places are recommendable to visit and are clean hotels/hostels easy to find?
3.) My friend speaks basic Russian. Will that be enough to get around and are the locals in Belarus helpful in general?
Thank you for your help!

I saw a nature documentary about some scientists who were studying wolves in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, and they were able to visit the Belarussian section, but can you go there as a tourist?
I am planning on taking my 11 year-old daughter to see her birth country and some members of her birth family. We will need a translator to French or English. Where can we hire one. We are also looking for an ap
artment in Minsk and in Bobruisk. What other cities or places should we visit. We will be in Belarus from August 2 to August 21.

I am so excited to finally get to see Belarus, and then later on the Baltic states! I am having some serious difficulty finding a place that will issue me a letter of invitation though. I have spoken to two hostels, both said they would try and help, then I never hear back. Is there any tourist agency that will issue a letter for a payment?
