How much time is needed to visit Mosteiro da Batalha?
A couple of hours should do, but it of course depends on the person who goes there.
As you asked for Batalha, Alcobaça and Convento de Cristo, my answer is: half day for each (including transport). So you can choose Alcobaça (morning)+ Batalha (afternoon) , or Batalha + Convento. I don't think that is possible to see the 3 monuments in one day (and i know the way to get there and you will loose time on finding the right path, parking etc...
But both are very interesting monuments. I give you a tip: Try Batalha and Convento (you can go by highway n.º A1). And if you have another day, try "Convento de Mafra" + Óbidos Castle or Alcobaça (this three you can go by highway n.º A8)
Thanks for your help.
I'm portuguese. I'll be spending a weekend near those locations and at the end of the weelend I'm returning to Lisbon. I don't want to see all. I'm trying to decide witch one I'll visit. Definitly I don't have time for all.
I already know Óbidos and Mafra :)
I'm thinking of Convento de Cristo because I never had been there.
In Alcobaça and Batalha I have been before but don't relly remember it.
Convento cristo is the most time consuming of the 3 places as it's quite big and the walk around it fairly long if you want to see it all.
Ok. If your doubt is which of 3 you will visit, i can help reduce the number. Exclude Alcobaça of your list. Despite of be a very interesting monument, it's less spectacular than the other 2. (it's my opinion).
Thanks! That's a huge help!
