ryanair run a bus service into the centre of Barcelona (bus station Nord - i think )which takes about an hour and from there you can take a taxi back to el prat airport

unless any locals can give further better advise

hope you sort it

It is really complicated. Probably you bought a tickte from RyanAir because they say "Barcelona(Girona)", right? But they don´t say it is more than 100 k.m from Barcelona.

It is true that there is a coach at the airport taking the passengers to Barcelona, every time a plane from RyanAir you won´t wait too much, but it is a long way..and it is to Barcelona centre, so you must go to the airport...not a short ride(talking about time). If you go to Sans Station, there is a direct train to the airport. Every 15 minuts(more or less) and it takes 30 minuts(more or less again).

Good luck.

The most comfortable, and probably quickest combination:

1. Take Ryanair bus direct to Estació Nord.
2- Walk out, and go to Arc de Triomf RENFE Station, whose entrance is right outside. Pay special attention, look for "RENFE" platforms(railway system) NOT "METRO" (Red Line 1). Catch ANY train going southbound (direction Hospitalet/Vilafranca), as all of them stop in Sants Central Station (only two stops).
3. Change platforms in Sants Central Station, direction "Aeroport". There is a train approx. every 30 min.

Last but not least, beware of pickpockets and look after your belongings all the time.

just to point that, even called many times, the "Ryanair bus", its from an independent company:

If everything goes well, you will not wait more than 15 min for the next bus upon arrival to GRO. Bust takes 1h 15 m to Estacio del Nord. From there, as said you can take a train to Sants, and from there to the airport, but be aware than trains from Sants to the airport depart every 30 min, and it will take at least another 15 min to reach your terminal. All this is theoretically doable in 3 hours, but not allowing any delay or missing any transport

Alternatively you can take the metro from Estacio del Nord to Catalunya, and there the Aerobus to El Prat (buses every 15 min, stopping in front of each terminal at the airport)

Of, if you're running off of time, for any reason (delays...), a Taxi from estacio del Nord to El Prat shoudl cost you about 35€

best of luck

Just to clarify that Alsa buses go from Girona TOWN to Barcelona airport, and that there seems to be only 3 buses per day. Therefore, these are hardly useful for someone who need to make it in less that 3 hours
