We are Canadian. Do you suggest bringing US $$, then converting it to Barbados $$ once there?
Hi, I am visiting Barbados from next Tuesday 30th August until 7th September and I would like to know if any cricket matches are held in Barbados during this week as I would love to go to one? Also are there any places where locals play to possibly join in? Many thanks!
5 people travelling from Airport to Accra Beach Resort. Assuming it will be 1 1/2 times normal fare for a van or around $26 US. Are taxis safe and reliable and clean? Thanks!
Hoping to head to Barbados for a family vacation Dec 27-Jan 3, kids aged 19, 17, 14. Trying to pick a hotel/resort. I keep reading about: Southern Palms, Ocean-Two Resort, Crystal Cove or Turtle Beach. I believe they are all on the west coast. Like idea of being close (but not too close) to The Gap, for entertainment. Any recommendations for/against the above. Comments greatly appreciated :-)
I'm planning to visit these places in early March and stay 4-5 days in each place. Obviously I am on a budget! My main concern is cost of accom. Can you guys tell me how to find budget accommodation using local knowledge/guys? Is $40 per night possible?
Is it possible/advisable to fish from the beach in St. Philip? We will be staying near Bottom Bay and Harrismith Bay.
As per picture below, does anyone know the owner of this boat and how to contact him. The boat sits in the Bridgetown Marina. A few years back we went on a snorkelling tour with the owner and his daughter and we would like to arrange another one for our upcoming vacation in Barbados. You help would be appreciated.
How long to allow to get to airport from ship.It seems 24 minutes from the terminal to airport but it is suggested to allow 4hrs 24 minutes for transfer.........is this correct?
Flights out are either 8.05 am and 3.25pm and ship docks at 5.00am...Can we easily make the 8.05 flight or should we do the 3.25pm?
I will be coming to Barbados on a cruise in a few weeks. The three adults that I will be with do not want to snorkel so I would like to find a nice quiet beach with chairs and umbrella to rent and good snorkeling right from the beach. I do not want to take a boat excursion to snorkel without them. Can you suggest the best place for us? How long a cab ride would that be from the ship? What would be approximate costs for the cab, beach access and rentals? If necessary I'll bring my own snorkeling equipment.
We will be in the Hotel "Infinity on the Beach" for 2 weeks in december. Who can tell me something about the Hotel and what to do in Barbados?
Thank your very much!
We are travelling out tomorrow and worried about weather, does it rain all day or just short showers?
I plan to visit Barbados on a cruise stop, and will have about 8 hours to see the island. I was just gonna book a full day tour, but now I'm thinking a private tour might be a better option for us. I did some calculations, and it's only $20 more per person, than the tour, and I can tour the island at my own pace, and see the places I want to see, not the places they think I want to see, and we don't have to waste valuable time stopping for lunch. Also, will the guide okay with doing some "walking" in certain areas?
Has anyone done the 6-7 hour private tour with them? Are they reliable? Will they pick us up at our ship, and make sure we make it back on time? I've read mixed reviews about this company, and I don't want to book it, have them not show up, than end up not seeing ANYTHING.
There will be 2 of us, and it came out to about $97 per person. Is this the correct price? If so, this would be the cheapest private tour I've ever seen, and would definitely be the best option for us. But I've also noticed that the tours to St. Nicholas Abbey cost twice as much as other tours, so will it cost extra if I put it on my itinerary? I'm okay with just seeing the building from the outside. I will not go inside, if you have to take a separate tour.
Also, what is this PrePay Discount?
Any sort of feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I am currently in mexico, and i want to go to barbados.

We will be arriving at the port in Bridgetown and are renting a car. Can you please give me suggested driving itineries that will maximize our time on the island. Ideally, we would like to tour as much of the island as possible in a short period of time, our boat is docked from 8 am to 5 pm. We want to experience all that Barbados has to offer. Also, could you include driving times if possible so I'll know how much time to allot to each vista point. Thank you so much!
I will be visiting Barbados with 2 girlfriends next March. We are looking for accommodation and the areas outside st Lawrence gap seem to have more affordable holiday rentals. Would it be safe for us (3 girls early 20s) to take a taxi from st Lawrence gap to say enterprise in the early hours of the morning after a night out or would it be safer for us to just stay in st Lawrence gap?
Hello, Everyone! We are looking for accommodations in Barbados for 4 adults.
We thought apartment rentals or self-catered apartments would be the most budget and best value option. However, we're open to hotel suggestions, or any other living arrangement suggestions. We were hopting to spend between $100 to $150 per night.
Any suggestions on areas to stay in? I've read that The Gap is a suggestion. We're pretty active, love activity (ie. hiking, exploring, nightlife, ecotourism), etc., and also enjoy the beach and relaxation.
I presume that the island is small enough to get around that it would make the most sense to stay in one place for the week, and drive to the various parts of the island to check it out.
Thanks in advance!
My boyfriend and I are planning on travelling to Barbados from Vancouver, Canada for X-mas this year. Unfortunately, we're travelling with a Cuban passport so there are a lot of restrictions on where we can and cannot fly in and out of (ie. United States is a no go to transit in and out of, let alone travel to, and there are very few countries we can travel freely to in the world). With these restrictions, we're trying ot brainstorm on places to travel to after we visit Barbados for another week.
We don't even have to travel to Barbados, but we need to go somewhere Cubans can travel to without onerous visa restrictions (which Barbados is one country). We already know that Turks and Caicos, and any other British or American colony is an absolute no. We've already been to Antigua, so that's not really a choice. If anyone has a suggestion for a Caribbean country or another country close to Cuba, that would be most appreciated!
For the second part of the leg, we thought Costa Rica might be an option, but it seems like a one way flight from Barbados is exhorbitantly expensive (at $900 per flight). Can anyone suggest a budget airline to check (we were only able to check on Expedia), or even another destination to travel to that would make sense from Barbados? We are a bit less restricted, but going through the United States is still not an option.
Thank you in advance! I know these are tough questions :)
How many days do you suggest I should plan for Barbados ? (I am also going to St. Lucia and St Vincent & the grenadines, so I am planning my 12 day stay on these islands)
So for Barbados, should I leave 2,3, or 4 days ? Any short itenery you suggest? THANKS in advance
How to get from Bridgetown to Crane Beach by public transport ? And back ?
