What is the quantity of olive oil I can bring from Italy to India (In check -in-baggage)?

As you aware in India the Olive oil is very costly and in Italy it is very less, So I plan to carry 5 liters of olive oil while going to India.

Is it possible to carry this much olive oil in my check in baggage also, is this can be included in the alcohol (allowable limit is 2 liters) or excluded???

please help me to find the answer for this issue. thanks a lot for your help in advance. have a great day

As a start, here is the IATA site which details Indian customs allowances:

Obviously olive oil cannot be included in the alcohol allowance. Olive oil is not alcohol!

1. You should be aware that olive oil is graded according to its press, ie., first press, second press and so on. First press - like first flush of tea leaves - is the most expensive.

2. I get my requirement of olive oil from the INA market in New Delhi. It is normally a 5-litres sealed tin. I usually pack it in my check-in luggage while flying back from IGIA, New Delhi to Guwahati (Assam). Airlines allow that.
