Can someone tell me if visiting Qobustan-Mud Volcano-Astegah-Yanardag is good for 1 day?
Can we do it with taxi? And how much that will cost?
I would like to travel from Baku to Sheki via Shamakhi, probably just for a day trip at Shamakhi. But, I am going to solely rely on public transport like marshrutka. So, in my case would this route work? Thanks!
I am planning to travel to Azerbaijan later in November, and submitted an application for a Visa last week at the dedicated centre in London. Sadly delays in the postal service have meant the application will not arrive until Monday or Tuesday next week.
The Azerbaijan Visa Centre takes 12 working days to process a Visa application. Due to this, I am not confident that I will get the Visa back in time for the day I start my travel. Therefore, I have asked the Visa centre to allow me to pick up the Visa, even though I submitted it by post.
I did not hear from them yet, perhaps because I sent my email mid-afternoon on Friday. Does anyone know if the Visa centre will allow a submission by post, and a collection in person?
Also, the Visa centre's number seems to be hard to find. Does anyone know what it is? Finally, if there are further delays, does anyone know another way of getting a Visa for Azerbaijan? I am planning to travel to Baku overland from Tbilisi, and I seem to remember reading somewhere it is possible to get a same-day Visa there.
All answers welcomed!!
Hi Has anyone travelled overland in their own vehicle recently crossing a Land border.
Does anybody know if CBT Azerbaijan is still operating? CBT stands for community based tourism and organized home stays all over Azerbaijan and was recommended by many people. I had contact with regarding a home stay in Khinaliq. However, now their website dissappeared and the email-address doesn't esxist anymore. They still seem to be on facebook, but didn't answer to my message.
Has any of you got a visa for Azer in Georgia (in Batumi or Tbilisi) recently?
Well, how good are one's chances of getting an Azerbaijan visa in Georgia? And how long will it usually take?
Hi, I'm going to Azerbaijan and then i'm going to Armenia.
Anibody knows if i'll have problems with visa to entry in Armenia?
I will be in Azerbaijan from Oct 3-10 (arriving to Baku early on Oct 3 and flying out from Nakhchivan on Oct 10).
Is anybody interested in joining the hike from Xinaliq to Laza (on foot or on horse). As the area is restricted it is necessary to arrange permits at least one month in advance and to take a guide (not cheap, but probably worthwhile).
If you are interested in joining in on day trips in Nakhchivan (Ordubad and/or Batabat) or Baku (Qobustan/Absheron) please also let me know.
I'd like to know the cheapest and best way (by bus, metro etc.) to get from HEYDAR ALIEV AIRPORT downtown to Baku, Guesthouse Inn ?
Thank you for information.
Please how and where can I book bus ticket Baku to Lenkaran . Often buses are prebooked by locals so cannot get on. Can we pay by foreign bankcard or how?
A friend and I are going to Sheki from Apr 28 - May 01 and looking for a reasonable priced place to stay.
We searched through the accommodation here but only found fairly expensive hotels (starting from 60 Euros / person). I heard that the Caravansaray is not that recommendable.
We found "Ilgar's Hostel" on booking.com, but strangely this place has not been rated yet and we don't know if we should take the risk.
Thank you for your tips and responses!!
I would like to know what is the best and maybe fastest way to travel between Baku and Sheki by public transport? And is Sheki worth visiting? I heard it´s the second most interesting place in Azerbaijan. Thank you for your tips and responses!
which area of azerbaijan is agriculturel,
It seems our travel (as long as we get visas ;) ) will take place. We are browsing internet looking for travel experiences, tips etc. But sometimes one can find informations such as "its better not to go there". And I am not thinking of NG Karabagh.
Are there regions / cities / places where tourist shouldn`t go? We will be travelling in "group" of two.
And the second question - I`d like to ask how should we behave talking to "locals" or staying at their homes in terms of sex (my wife). Can she take a part in discussions etc or will it be rather bad idea unless she will be asked? I definitively don`t want to offend anybody but would like to know the people better as that is one of the reasons why are we travelling.
In preparation of my trip to Azerbaijan I have read on the internet that I might have to register after 3 working days in the country. I already have my e-Visa and will probably stay 4-5 days in Baku.
Is this registration definitely necessary? Where and how can I do this?
Any recent experiences with this?
Thanks for your help.
me and my wife are thinking of an trip to Azerbaijan by the end of September. As we like to see as much as possible, we would like to do a kind of a round trip. I am wondering what would be the better way - rental car or combination of hired car + driver with public transportation. I am not thinking only on costs, but also on potential "risk" that we will stuck somewhere because we`d liked the place, stayed overnight and with no chance to leave ;) And the second question - are the drivers willingly to just do the one way trip or it doesn`t matter because the price will be the same?
We don`t prefer crowded tourist places - we would like to feel the "real" country with it`s forgotten places etc.
If rental car is the way to do - will small car survive it, or we should look for some 4wd (assuming there are places off the beaten path worth to see).
I would like to visit Azerbaijan in October. I need some advice. In your opinion, which are the most beautiful landscape in Azerbaijan? I mean, that kind of landscape or view that you would look at it for hours.
Thanks. This will help to plan my holidays
Does anyone of you has any experiences with visa regulations of Azerbaijan and entry to the country with Armenian stamps in the passport?
I am a German passport holder and have just recently been to Armenia. Since about 1,5 years Germans don't need a Visa for Armenia anymore, but of course I got a couple of Armenian stamps in my passport. No, I haven't visited Nagorno Karabagh.
I have checked the info on the webpage of the "German Department of Foreign Affairs", where it roughly says something like this:
"Travellers with an Armenian visa must be prepared for longer waiting times and questioning at the border."
As said I don't have an Armenian visa in my passport, but Armenian stamps, which probably doesn't make much difference.
Any help is much appreciated.

I'd like to rent a flat in Baku with a friend. Do you know how i can get an official invitation from a travel agency or official structure?
What is timetable of buses to Tbilisi from Baku?
Looking for a reliable guide/driver for sight seeing in and around Baku from 12 to 16 September and would appreciate any recommendations and/or advice please.
We were looking into getting visa to Azerbaijan. Don't think we can get a tourist one as we don't have a letter of invitation. Therefore a question: is it possible to get a transit visa if we book a flight from Baku to Budapest? We would travel to Baku from Tibilsi.
I am mulling over and conjuring up a plan of Iran-Azerbaijan-Turkey and would like to ask this:
What was your experience?
Thanks for your info!
Hi!I am italian and I need urgent help. I will go at the end of June in Azerbaijan to visit my boyfriend who works there so i will stay in his apartment, NOT IN HOTEL. I CANNOT do a letter of invitation for me. An azeri travel agency proposed to do for me an e-visa, they will do the invitation letter and the fake reservation in hotel. My italian travel agency said generally the azeri emigration registration (or something similar) checks if the hotel is reserved and also paid. Possibly the azeri travel agency has friends in the minister of foreign affairs?Who knows? Is it risky to apply for this e-visa?I mean will I risk to be rejected at the airport? Please help me :(
i need visa for azerbaijan i'm from iraq , i don't know how to apply e-visa and i need invtation really i don't know how to find one to invite me or anything else ... :(

Lonely Planet guidebook for "small caucasus" contains Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Is it worth spending few days in Ajerbaijan in a 3weeks trip to small Caucasus? Why?
I'm transiting through Baku on my way to Georgia and will have about 3 nights there. I was wondering what the best part of town to be based in Baku? Preferably somewhere within walking distance to the main sites, restaurants, etc.... would prefer not to have to take a taxi around to get to things, and can anyone suggest a good guesthouse / hotel that's not too pricey but central? Thanks in advance!
