Hello,
Does anyone of you has any experiences with visa regulations of Azerbaijan and entry to the country with Armenian stamps in the passport?
I am a German passport holder and have just recently been to Armenia. Since about 1,5 years Germans don't need a Visa for Armenia anymore, but of course I got a couple of Armenian stamps in my passport. No, I haven't visited Nagorno Karabagh.
I have checked the info on the webpage of the "German Department of Foreign Affairs", where it roughly says something like this:
"Travellers with an Armenian visa must be prepared for longer waiting times and questioning at the border."
As said I don't have an Armenian visa in my passport, but Armenian stamps, which probably doesn't make much difference.
Any help is much appreciated.
Firstly, you will NOT be denied entry. Of course, if you had the N-K visa you would be denied entry, but since you don't it won't matter.
There is a possibility you may have a couple extra questions at the border. They may ask to look at your photos (again looking for N-K evidence). At most, an hour. But it's all pretty harmless and you'll be let through. I've made the trip several times myself and never been stopped. However while living in Baku, i hosted a few CouchSurfers which wee stopped. Again, just a few extra questions.
Thanks a lot for the help. That's rougly what I thought. So this means that I also won't have any problems applying for the visa, which is actually my main concern. As soon as I have the visa I don't think that they would deny my entry. - Getting asked a few questions is not really a problem for me as I actually have nothing to hide. ;-)
They will NOT deny you entry at the border. And getting the visa won't be a problem either.
