Are there any corner stores open on Christmas Eve later then 4pm? so we can buy basic groceries?
Are there any public beaches I can walk
To from downtown Oranjestad?
The Hilton resort does not come up with the other hotels in Aruba. Anyone stay there and have some feedback?
First trip to Aruba. Husband and wife
I want the truth about arubas safety. Are there any bad guys who tend to harm other people? Hows in the marriot renaissance island area? Any poisonous snakes/animals? Hows noord area? We want a relaxing experience
Can anyone recommend any all-you-can-eat restaurants in Aruba?
Any information on the Banana Trolley, Cost, Route?
where is the bus terminal in relation to the airport
I visited Aruba about 10 years ago and am going again in a month. I went to a restaurant that was in land and among local houses. I can not think of the name of it, but part of it was outside and part of it was inside with a bar and a really good bartender making crazy good drinks... The food was awesome and I remember there being a pickled onion appetizer... I really want to go back, and looked through a list, but no restaurant names jumped out to me... Any Help? Hopefully it's still open.
I believe it's called Conchi. I don't swim can I go in with a life jacket?
Are there rental shops for binoculars or telescopes? How about the best places (darkest) for stargazing? I've read that there are some good spots, but warn against going alone. Why? Should I be afraid of animals or people?
I would like to know where I can buy prepaid credit cards (Visa, Master Card or Amex) in Aruba, and if I can purchase them with a foreign credit card or only with cash. Thank you
I'm transitting Aruba (Queen Beatrix) and have about 8 hours on the island. I'd love to get out of the airport. I'll try to check into my second flight but i don't know if they'll do it that early.
So questions is... do they have a luggage storage at the airport? I've looked through the airport website and can't find mention of one :(
Second question is... what would you do with 8 hours (12 pm to 8pm) on the island?
Hi, I will be visiting Aruba in two days. While I will do some touristy stuff I am also interested in the best local cheap eats and hang outs?
Mi ta bi escabo.
I have never seen anything like this before. There were only a few local places that asked for florins, everyone else wanted American dollars. What the hell? Why do they even have their own currency?
We asked a few locals about this, but didn't get a clear answers.
What would be the best way to get to the Bon Bini Festival at Fort Zoutman?
We would leave during the day, so taking a bus wouldn't be a problem, but the festival ends at 9 PM. How will we get back? How much would taxi cost? We are staying in Noord.
I read taxis on some Caribbean islands charge per person. Is Aruba the same?
How much would taxi cost from Airport to Noord?
We're in a bit of a predicament.
We booked a car online, but they told us you pay upon arrival. We called the company, and they told us we can only pay with a credit card, which we do not have.
Than we checked another company, and they want a $600 deposit, which we also don't have. That is ridiculous! That is more than the cost of the rental.
So now we are stuck without a car. We originally had it booked for the whole week, but we had no idea it would be such an expensive and complicated proccess. We only really need a car for Arikok, Hooiberg, and maybe Baby Beach. Everywhere else we can take the bus, or walk. So we're thinking about just renting one for a day.
What are some good companies, where you can pay with a debit card, and you don't have to leave a deposit?
Is there any place we can rent a car on site?
I like to pick up wildlife, both marine and land, but I know that in some places it is illegal and punishable. What are the rules on Aruba? I don't want to get a fine.
I know it's in the tropics, but it's still a desert, and I know deserts can be 80 degrees during the day, than 40 degrees at night. I don't know if I should bring warm clothes or not.
Also, how bad is the wind there? Does it blow everywhere? I don't know if I should bring my hat or not. Will it blow away.
Last time I read they were closed for rennovation. Have they reopened?
Are there any places you can go for a day trip from Aruba. The only ones I know of would be Curacao, Bonaire, and Venezuela. But flights to Curacao cost $200. I am looking for something between $20 and $100 USD, and that includes the $30 tax.
Bonaire was cheaper, but a bit far.
What about Venezuela? I thought there is ferry to Venezuela, but it said they got rid of it. Probably because it's a danger country.
I read you can fly to Coro, but I couldn't find any flights for one day. Also, is Coro a danger city? We don't wanna get kidnapped.
I also read Americans need visa to Venezuela, and IDK where to get one.
Any ideas? It's not that important. The place I wanted to see most in ABC islands was Willemsted, but if I have to pay $200 for 20 minute flight, I will just go another time.
I wanted to see the Bon Bini Festival, but the bus stops nowhere near our hotel, and I heard driving in Aruba at night is difficult and dangerous. So it looks like the best way would be to take a cab. How much would one cost?
I was also thinking about taking the bus one way, and than taking cab back, but how can I be sure I will find one at night?
We will have a car, but would rather not drive at night.
I see there is some De Palma Island that has good snorkeling, but I see no way to get there. Is there ferry service, or can you go by kayak? If not, I was just gonna put on some snorkel gear and swim. I measured the distance on Google Earth, and it's only 500 yards from shore. I could swim that easily.
I read that you have to pay entrance fee at visitor center, but I was thinking it would be better to enter the park from the south, and see the caves first, but I don't there is visitor center at south entrance, so where do you pay the fee?
In the U.S., you just pay fee at entrance, so this is something new to me. I heard Aruban police aren't very friendly, so I do not want to get a ticket for not paying fee.
Also, is it like in Europe, where you have to pay fee per person at every attraction, or like in U.S. where you just pay one fee for car. Also, how long is the park pass good for. In US, they are good for one week.
What kind of clothing should I wear for caving in Aruba? Is there any crawling required. I was gonna wear long pants, and shirt, but if there is no crawling required, I will just go in shorts and a t-shirts.
Also, I read some bad things about Tunnel of Love. That there are no lights, and people have gotten lost in there.
Also, is a hard hat a good idea, or will a headlamp and flashlight be enough?
I want to visit all of them, since they are close to eachother. But I read Tunnel of Love isn't that nice. Which ones have the nicest formations?
Im trying to find a reputable steel band who will come to the docks when our cruise ship docks next March 25th 2014 and play Happy Brithday to a very special person. Its his 70th and 9 of us are all his guests on the cruise. Any ideas please?
ever had run in with dangerous fish? Baby or Eagle or Arashi? Ever seen undertow or rip tide?
Been twice and bought a time share, so just curious.
Big waves at eagle last January carried me into shore maybe 15-20 feet. Dumped me on the sand, then the next one came along and I thought I was a gonner but then scurried up the sand and all was fine,
Also heard there are pythons out in the outback. Where do they hang out? We want to rent a vehicle and drive out to the pool
Does anyone know of any cheap places to crash in Aruba. All i am looking for is a cheap place to crash and chill out. Nothing luxurious or anything. I am planning to go sometime mid March of next year, visiting both Curacao and Aruba. I got in touch with a possible host on Couchsurfing.com for both islands but in case i decide to go the bnb or hostel route or last minute plans change(god forbid), Ill have something to fall back on. Thanks all :)
