We are traveling on the ferry from split arriving 7 a.m. in Ancona on July 15. We are taking the train to Rome for an evening flight that day. How much time do we need to get from the ferry terminal to on board the train to Rome? Thank you
I have not been to Ancona, but in looking at the map, the various docks appear to be between 3/4ths of a mile and a mile and 3/4ths from the train station...in other words, a short taxi ride.
The real question is WHEN you can actually got off the ship and on to the dock.
I imagine that you are aiming for the regionale veloce (fast regional) that leaves Ancona at 08:45, arriving at Roma Termini at 12:35. I don't know when your flight is, but this should leave you plenty of time to eat something, then take the Leonardo Express out to the airport.
Or, of course, you can take the Terravision bus or the Sitbus (much cheaper than the Leonardo Express), or even take a taxi - the fixed fare is 48, which, if there are 4 of you, is cheaper than the Leonardo Express also.
What time is your flight departing from Fiumicino, and, oh, IS your flight leaving from Fiumicino and not the other airport, Ciampino?
Is just a short way, once you get off the ferry there is bus will take you to the main station of Ancona [original VT link]
The distance betwen station and port is short.
