I hadn't intended to ask this question quite yet, but I am thinking of flying into Amsterdam in 2018 and staying there a couple of days to see the city and get over jet lag before we fly to Kilimanjaro for a safari. I will be with my granddaughter who is a tiny little girl. I am currently using a scooter to get around, but I don't think my granddaughter will be able to pick up the scooter which weighs about 60 lbs. I can walk a short distance, but I cannot stand for more than about a minute without back pain and once my back starts to hurt I am finished for the day. That means that even standing in an elevator can be a problem.
I don't think that a scooter will be useful on safari and I am hoping that I can get along with just a cane that I can sit on. We will have a car and driver so most of my walking will be in the safari camps. I think I can do from the car to the room and from the room to dinner.
Also I thought we would take the hopon-hopoff canal boat trip and I don't think the scooter will be that useful there and I would be using the cane. The problem would come in getting to and from the canal boat.
Is there a hotel where I could stay there and then leave the scooter in storage while we go on the safari? Or is there any kind of rental place where I could rent one when i got there? I have stayed at a hotel where they had a wheelchair, but Bob had to push and I don't think my granddaughter will have enough mass to be able to wrangle me in a wheelchair (her two siblings also had a problem with this).
And what would be the best hotel/location to be able to see Amsterdam. Are there hotels with airport pick-up?
Do you have any other suggestions

Alright I am flying into Amsterdam at 2000 hrs on a Thursday evening. I need a cheap place to shower and get a few hours sleep before catching the next morning train to Maastricht.. I am not that picky just want a place to lock my luggage and not be bothered with worrying about it. Oh and it will be the first Thursday in June so its not a last minute thing
Hello... We may be able to be in Amsterdam for New Year's Eve and are wondering if it's worth it since we don't know the area very well and don't want to fuss over not knowing where we are or how to get where we want to be. Our hotel would be near the airport. So, our questions are... Where are some of the best places to be to watch the fireworks and how concerned should we be about safety? Also, will it be easy to return to the airport in the wee hours of the morning on New Year's Day? ...... Any info would be appreciated...... thnks............
Hi Everyone! I'm planning for my honeymoon trip to Amsterdam in May 2017. I intend to rent a bike and start cycling either from Harleem or Leiden (cycle by the flower field). Whichever start off point, I will make a U- turn back as cycling across towards the other side will take quite some time and i'm not quite sure if I can catch the off peak period to return to the original start off point by train. I understand that we can only bring our bike up the train during off peak period. Thus, i decide to cycle halfway and make a u turn. With this, i would like to ask, is the windmill at the flower field located at Harleem or Leiden?
Thank you in advance for all answers.
I am considering taken a trip with a granddaughter in June 2018 from Houston to Tanzania, and I will have to switch planes in either London or Amsterdam. I was thinking I would fly KLM. The child has a severe peanut allergy such that if she gets near a place which has had peanuts, she has an anaphylactic reaction and has to use an epi-pen and go to the ER immediately.
Does anyone know if KLM still serves peanuts?
And will it be a problem with eating in Amsterdam to avoid peanuts or places where peanuts would be in the food?

I will be in Belgium and the Netherlands for 2.5 weeks. All I'd like to be able to do is text travelling companions (also Canadians) in the event that we get separated. A travel pass for CAD 60 to my Bell Mobility plan would give unlimited calling and texting for a month. I found this: and am wondering if it is a viable option.
I'm an young Italian girl (30 years old) who has a passionate personal involvement in fitness classes in particular Total body, G.A.G. and H.I.I.T.
I have just returned from a luxury resort in Zanzibar where I worked as fitness trainer for 3 months. All of my experience comes from my work in the field so I never had time to do a course to obtain a valid faster certificate to teach in your country. But I am very interested to do it.
I will travel very soon in Europe, in particular in Amsterdam. Can someone help me with some information?
1) Is it necessary a Degree in Sport sciences?
2) What kind of certificate I have to bring? How can I do that?
I didn't live yet in Amsterdam but I really hope it’s going to be my next stop and I want to live there for a while.
I'm grateful if you can help me with these information.
Thanks to all!!

I am coming to Amsterdam for 5 days and will be using the tram maybe only once or twice a day (maybe not even) is it better to use single use tickets or what is the best place to go.
Also where do I buy these single use tickets if I am getting on a tram from prinsegracht to central station because there is no station in prinsegracht I don't think.
Thanks in advance

Looking for somewhere not too far from the center of Amsterdam and we don't mind having just a room no breakfast required!! There are 6 of us but we don't want a horrible hostel so we know we will need 2 triple single rooms. Looking for the weekend Friday 9th June. Thanks guys
Looking for Football tickets. Would like to see Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord play while in the Netherlands. Will be in Amsterdam for 16 days starting next Friday. I am particularly looking for 2 tickets for Feyenoord vs Manchester United on September 15th or PSV vs Feyenoord on September 18th. So if anyone knows how I can go about purchasing tickets for when I am in Amsterdam that would be great.
