Help ... Are there any shops in Amsterdam with ladies funky clothing that isn't for size zero! I'm looking for size 18/20 .. what would be the equivalent sizes in the Netherlands. Would I find any shops in the Leidseplein area?
Size 18/20 would be size 48 in Europe.
Depends if the OP is British or American, her home page tells us nothing.
British 18 = Euro 46
British 20 = Euro 48
American 18 = Euro 50
American 20 = Euro 52
De Bijenkorf is a large shopping centre in Dam Square, there are lots of clothes shops in Magna Plaza Amsterdam, also near Dam Square.
Leidseplein is more popular for cafes and restaurants than shopping.
Kwakersplein 1-7 (corner Bilderdijkstraat )

This shop looks great, would it be easy to find from Overtoom/ Leidesplein? http://www.mateloos.nl/
It's about 400 meters North of Overtoom 57; just a short walk.
Note: Closed on Mondays!
Be aware that average weekdays shop closing time is 6PM
What would be the average opening time for shops on Saturday's. If I ask the hotel for directions to the shop is it in a mall or shopping centre? Thanks
That shop (Mateloos) is open on Saturday from 10AM to 5:30PM.
It's just a shop on the corner of two main streets.
Amsterdam shops in the old center more or less starts around 11AM, but I suggest you start some early shopping at the Noordermarkt street market.

Once agian PJ you have been most helpful! The Noordermarkt street market sounds perfect. From my hotel which direction would I walk in and will I be able to find the Mataloos easily from the market? Thanks again ...
The Noordermarkt is at the first canal behind the Leidseplein from your hotel; that canal is called Prinsengracht. But the total distance is more than a kilometer from your hotel.
(you will pass the Nine Little Streets on your way to the Noordermarket; a good shopping suggestion for your way back; see: http://www.theninestreets.com/
Mateloos is not too far from your hotel (10 minutes walking?).
Better study the map a bit.
Nice shop with 2nd hand and new, design... called Spiegelbeeld (meaning Mirror image).
Address: Huidenstraat 24/B, Amsterdam
(between Keizersgracht and Herengracht, which is in the inner city. 'gracht' = canal).
The Huidenstraat is one of the so-called Nine Little Streets I mentioned earlier. I hope you have time enough to explore.
you can might find the your answer in the website http://www.sammydress.com/, the clothes in this website may suit you.
