Hi, I'm looking to plan a trip and I want some expert advice on somewhere to stay. Looking for somewhere not too far from the center of Amsterdam and we don't mind having just a room no breakfast required!! There are 6 of us but we don't want a horrible hostel so we know we will need 2 triple single rooms. Looking for the weekend Friday 9th June. Thanks guys
Not all hostels are horrible and if you do a bit of searching you might be able to find a hostel with a six bed dorm that you could share as a group. Finding two rooms with triple beds in a cheap hotel won't be easy - you'll do better looking for three rooms with twin beds.
I'm rarely a hostel person but I'd suggest having a look at what is available on www.booking.com for your dates - they have hostels as well as hotels and you can filter by price and location.
For a more specific recommendation have a look at the Amstel Botel - http://www.amstelbotel.nl/
I would look for a deal at one of the bigger hotels at the South ring, like the Novotel.
The tram sop is nearby and the tram ride is just 15 minutes to the center.
Cheaper alternative: F1 motel at Zaandam combined with a 12 minutes train ride to AMsterdam.
Please, what is the best and cheapest way to get to the city center from Zaandam?
Is Zaandam part of the Amsterdam public transportation?
I think the best public transportation option in Amsterdam is the Amsterdam Travel ticket but I am not sure it covers Zaandam.
Any help is welcomed.
