What is the name of the casino hotels in the area?
I am concerned about staying in Los Algondes with a rental car.
Is it suggested to stay in the AZ with a rental car??
Most major rental car companies will not let you drive a car into Mexico. The insurance is so different there, that you usually have to rent from an agency in Mexico. Even driving your own car into Mexico requires purchasing additional insurance.
There's a casino near Los Algodones in California along I-8. There are also charter tours that leave from Yuma and go there. Additionally, there is a parking lot on the US side of the border where you can leave your car and walk into Mexico, but I'm not sure about doing so overnight. Once you find a hotel, call them and they'll give you more accurate information.
Quechan Casino/Hotel is about a mile up the road from the border crossing. Parking in Algodones is a pain, just park on the American side in the Indian run parking lot and walk across. Totally worth the $5 fee. EVERYTHING you want in Algodones is in walking distance.
