I have a friend visiting Ghana, supposedly - he blew his computer there, he's really from USA, is there a Best Buy there in Accra?
Hello all,
I will be traveling to Ghana with a 1 and half year old kid from the US in December. I want to visit Morocco too on the way back home. I looked online and found connecting airlines taking passengers to Europe and Mid east and bringing them to Morocco. Is there a cheaper and shorter way to fly to Morocco (Casablanca or Marrakesh) from Accra, Ghana?
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ali
Hello I am hoping to visit Ghana for the first time actually it will be the first time for me visiting Africa. I am a single parent travelling with my two teenagers and so I will be on a budget but still wish to have a good experience. We will be going over the xmas and new year so I am hoping celebrations for this period will be great too. I have some contacts in Madina and so it looks as if this is where I may be based however some friends who are Ghanian seem not to speak to highly of the area and have mentioned that my kids and I are not very likely to have a good time if we stay there. Apparently it is very far from anywhere central, the beaches, the attractions etc. I will have to take taxi everywhere which will be costly and I am very confused. Please can someone shed some light if you have any familiarity with the area of Madina or just what I can expect on a very first visit to Africia. Ghana. Thank you

How about hiring a local guide? Who is good. Want to see the markets, get a true flavor of everyday life, see the important historical and art sites. Thanks...

Hi,
I want my son-in-law to visit me in Jamaica, but every time he goes to apply for a transit visa for one of the countries that he needs to go through he is always refused a visa which is quite frustrating for us.
I recently found out that Delta Airlines has flights from Ghana to Jamaica but there is a stopover in Atlanta for either 15:08 or for about 6 hrs depending on the flight chosen.Would he need a transit visa for any of these flights? I need advise please.
I plan to visit Accra, Ghana, for one week in July,2010. So far, I'm overwhlemed with selecting a reputable travel service to book my flight&hotel reservations. For example, on one hand, most online travel agencies(expedia for example) assert that they can save you around400.00, if you book both flight & hotel reservations with them, which their package comes to,approximately,2,700.
But , when I separately research a R.T. flight through expedia for1,600(taxes &fees included),then consider the hotel, "Airport View Hotel," at90.00 per day, for five nights($450.00usd), I save650.00.
Therefore, please give me details at how some of you booked your trip to Ghana, even if you bought into a tour package. Also, did you get a refundable ticket in case you would have to cancel for some reason?
Thanks,
Moe

A few weeks ago I was in Ghana and got robbed by some area boys on motorcycles in the Adabraka area. My bag was stolen with my camera in it. The week before that I had been in Nigeria and took over 200 pictures... I am just posting this in case anyone that frequents this forum is offered my camera for sale in Accra... I am not really bothered about the camera, it is just the pictures on the SD card that I am concerned about. So should anyone come accross a silver canon Ixus 60 with three nicks on the screen pleeeeease contact me!!!

This will by my first time in Accra. There's seem good tips on VT, but much of it seems dated (circa 2004). Can anyone give advice about things to do/where to go - especially re. beaches, restaurants/bars , attractions? With about a aweek to spend, I hope to pick up at least some of the vibe and atmosphere of this city.
