I love camping, nature and my own space! Looking for budget, adventure and overland options in the Yucatan to enjoy the beach without ...too many people around ;)
It's easy to take buses both short and long distance when budget traveling in the Yucatan, that's what I'll be doing the next 3 weeks! As for staying away from people, do you mean tourists or locals as well? I prefer to see how to locals live, so I head away from tourist areas and do just fine, but it is the low season so don't leave any valuables exposed.
I know there are places to camp in Tulum right on the beach, away from the hustle and bustle of town. I also use airbnb to find cheap places to stay, including whole apartments for as little as $20 or $30 if you shop carefully. Here's a few links to the tents in Tulum:
