Spending 2-3 days in Yellowstone in early May. Looking for good hikes for wildlife and landscape photography opportunities. What hikes and attractions shouldn't be missed?
There is a nice hike behind the Roosevelt Lodge to a neat lake. It is covered by trees and is cool. The lake is neat to walk around, but don't forget your bear spray. The Lamar Valley is near there and you will see animals at dusk and dawn. Another hike we did was to one of the waterfalls (maybe Beaver trail?). Short, nice hike. We saw lot's of Bison as we came out. Near Old Faithful Geyser is a hike Firehole River. Smelly sulphur, but a nice long uphill hike.
