We are thinking about going up to Whistler before the snow melts. We've never been and curious about how "family friendly" it is. Is there a preferable place to stay where our 3yr old daughter will have fun and not be cooped up all day? Walkable stuff would be great. We are willing to pay a little more for a better experience. Also, we will try to get her into a kids lesson if there are any thoughts on that, I'll take em!
Whistler has arguably the best village of all North American ski resorts, so why stray? The Westin Resort And Spa Whistler it's centrally located in the village and near the gondolas. Some rooms have fireplaces if you want that nice cozy ambiance. Families and tourists tend to stay on the Whistler side, while locals will make their way to the Blackcomb side. Whistler has an amazing learning program for all ages, just inquire at the village.
I agree with Michael - The Westin Resort And Spa Whistler is a great place to stay. It is literally a 30 second walk from the hotel to the gondola (and ski school drop off for the kids). The town and all the restaurants and shops are right outside your door. The staff at the Westin Whistler are very attentive and eager to make your stay perfect. There is a nice spa in the hotel as well as an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs.
Hope you enjoy your trip to Whistler - it is such a great place!
