I was reading one of Justin Schmid's answers and both of us have had our best sangria in Costa Rica! I have spent a lot of time in Spain so this was surprising! Where was yours?
Definitely Barcelona. I sipped Sangria at El Bosc de les Fades just off La Rambla among the trees and great interior design (pictured above, and yes, that is inside the bar). I also drank enough that I then attempted to speak Spanish.
In short, a great night!

Barcelona! Enjoyed many glasses while visiting the city, but the best was at Cervecería Catalana. TAPEO was a close second. So perfect.
My best sangria was actually from a small hostel in Comer See in Italy. I had a lot of euro coins I was trying to use so I got a sangria early one morning and it was delicious! Nothing better than looking over the beautiful lake whilst drinking a cheap glass of great sangria!
For me, the best Sangria was in any restaurant close to Central Market (Mercado Central) in Valencia, Spain. Try to walk around and pick a place for a good Seafood Paella and pair it with their local Sangria mixed with fine Valencia oranges.
That's hilarious about having your best sangria in Costa Rica. I lived there for a bit and don't think I ever had sangria while I was there. All of the best sangria I've had has been in Spain. As some of the people mentioned below, Barcelona for sure. I also had really great sangria in the Canary Islands on Fuerteventura. There along the boardwalk there were some great outdoor cafes, one of which did pitchers of sangria in the afternoon for like $5. Also remember have good sangria on the squares in Girona in Costa Brava.

In a little restaurant located in San Pedro named Pizzeria y Galería El Portón Rojo. Best sangria in Costa Rica.
