Agree with Faheem. Baby Wale and Corduroy are really close and two of my favorites. Corduroy is one of my favorite hidden gems.  Also check out Acadiana Restaurant if you are feeling adventurous and like Creole/Cajun cuisine. Enjoy DC!

Zaytinya is nearby. It's a Greek tapas restaurant. It's by DC's native celebrity chef Jose Andreas who has about five restaurants in the city. I don't care for many of them, but this one is far and away the best.

There are quite a few good places nearby and the area is very easy to walk around and explore.  Both Busboys and Poets and Silo Restaurant are good, but there are coffee shops and patisseries and a decent El Salvadorean place nearby too.  :)

It's pretty easy to get anywhere in the city from the convention center area but there are also several good places to eat within walking distance.  One of my long time favorite places in that area is Brasserie Beck.  For a slightly higher end meal if you walk a few block north on 9th street you will find Table.  This place is a fantastic little restaurant with a great neighborhood feel.  If you go a half a block further up 9th street there is SUNdeVICH serving up some really creative and delicious sandwiches.  It's a little tricky to find since it's down an alley but just look for the signs.
