Ryan from Redondo Beach asked

Best coffee in DC?

I'm flying a red eye from LA to DC next month and want to go to the best coffee spot in DC right when I get off the plane.

The Plan:

LAX -> DC -> UBER -> Latte

Note: would love it if they had almond milk ;)

Washington, DC

If you can make it over to the Shaw neighborhood I recommend checking out Compass Coffee.  The owners have a great story and are super nice.  They roast the beans in house and have several blends to choose from.

I'm not sure about the almond milk, but my absolute favorite coffee shop in District of Columbia is the Baked & Wired in Georgetown (Washington DC). They use Portland's Stumptown coffee and an Oregon Chai as well.  Try a handpie. The desserts are equally phenomenal and you can take your cuppa' to go and stroll along the old C&O canal just adjacent to the cafe. Great spot!
