I will only be in DC for 1 night. What is a great restaurant off the beating path? A local spot, kid friendly, amazing food. I am a big foodie!
Ben's Chili Bowl has been around since 1958. Have an original half-smoke and enjoy this iconic restaurant that has served locals, politicians & celebrities for over 50 years. Old Ebbitt Grill is near the The White House and The Tombs is near Georgetown (Washington DC)Both are part of the Clyde Restaurant group and have wonderful menus (try a crabcake) and a lot of history. Depending on what time of the year you are visiting,Fish Market serves a variety of seafood in open air setting & you can learn the art of blue crab picking. The Union Station has a fun food court with lots of choices & is a cool place for kids to visit. And Mitsitam Cafe located in National Museum of the American Indian serves Native foods found in the Western Hemisphere.
Enjoy!
