Unfortunately, my 5 years living in Hawaii is likely up in a few short months. Therefore, Asia and specificaly SE Asia will very likely be farther and hardest to travel to. I want to travel where I haven't been. So Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Korea, and Thailand are out.
Things I do when travel: Street food, venture into very local places, bars and nightlife, nature/hiking, love boats and infiniti pools as an aside. I am considering Australia, Vietnam, etc. What suggestions do you guys have? I am open to unique and weird experiences. Thanks!
Japan is an awesome palce to visit but it does have a much higher budget than the rest of SE Asia. Thailand is an awesome place to visit and you can definitely try street food, boating and nightlife! I wrote a bit of a blog post about the islands and northern Thailand which might help you out:

But Vietnam is also awesome to visit! You could even see Vietnam and Thailand on the same trip as they're connected. I have another blog post about Vietnam and where to go if it helps http://bit.ly/1JU6llE
