Have a trip to Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta from Hanoi

I am staying in Hanoi and about to leave Hanoi for HCMC. After visiting HCMC, I will take a tour to Mekong Delta. I intend to move from Mekong Delta to Siem Reap by boat. Is it feasible to choose boat? Which places in Mekong delta should I visit? I also consider homestay service here. Any suggestions?

An outstanding point in Mekong Delta is floating market. There are many large floating markets here. You should go to Cái Bè District (Vinh Long) and Cái Răng (Can Tho). However, to take part in the market meeting, you have to wake up at early morning.

If having a trip to Mekong Delta, you should not miss Cái Bè District and Cai Rang Floating Market, especially Cai Rang market where a lot of types of commodities are sold. Besides, you are advised to spend time visiting orchards here.

Besides Cái Răng and Cái Bè Districttp. Châu Đốc Cai Rang  is also worthwhile place to visit. If you want to go to Cambodiaa by boat, you will go through Chau Doc. The most unique destination here is Chau Doc floating village, which brings many typical features of Mekong Delta. You can consider Mekong-delta-tours to take a tour from HCMC to Mekong Delta and then exit to Cambodia.

Get off the beaten path, go find a little restaurant and try the real Vietnam! I will be going back there in November.

The number of goods in Cái Bè District market is not large as Cái Răng. Goods in Cai Rang are very diverse. The market is always crowded with people in noisy business scene. You also enjoy many unique food. As I know, there are boats from Mekong Delta to Phnom Penh. If you take a tour, maybe travel companies also transfer you to Cambodia by boat.
