Hello, I would be grateful for information about good restaurants, shopping, amusement palces and real experiences that could be done in: Hanói, Saigon and Hoi An. The trip is in August. Thank you very much
I'm living in Hoi An now and hope i can help you some information here.
In Hoi An, for visiting around, you just need the entrance fee (6 usd) for discorvering some temples, old houses..
In August, the weather is still hot here, you should go to the beach. We just lost the most beautiful part in Cua Dai Beach because of the erosion last year. An Bang beach is good choice now.
For food, Hoi An has food tours from Australian man Neville (quite expensive) or you can choose from local one Hoi An Food Tour. It's cheaper and true local tastes also.
Or you can go by yourself to visit some local restaurants. Rice chicken from Com Ga Ba Buoi, Hoi An (22 Phan Chau Trinh st), or White Rose Restaurant (533 Hai Ba Trung st), Cao Lau noodle (in Local market)...
Mentioned in this answer:
While you're in Hanoi, visit Quán Bún Bò Nam Bộ: http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g293924-d1224274-Reviews-Bun_Bo_Nam_Bo-Hanoi.html
It is the best place we ate while we were there. It was so good we went back twice. Just oder the Bun Bo Nam Bo that everyone else gets, you won't be disappointed :)
This depends on your taste in food. But the one thing you must try is the Vietnamese Thai Hot Pot. There is no pot involved but it is a bucket with a burner under it. The Hot Pot has a variety of stuff in it like lemongrass, galangal or ginger, lemon juice, tomato sauce, sugar, salt, mushroom, shrimp, cuttle, fish balls, beef and if you have some lemon leaves and clams it will be better. It cooks right in front of you and then the flame goes out when it is done. As far as Shopping try Parkson located in front of the International Airport.
