Suggestions for the best beaches?

I am traveling to Vieques island and staying at the W Spa and Retreat in July with a large group. I would like to know the best beaches for swimming with less rocks and smooth water. Also some really good places to eat. Fine and casual dining. I am staying 2 nights in San Juan. Any ideas on boutique hotels and places to go?

I was just on Vieques last week and visited a handful of great beaches. I highly recommend Navio; beautiful beach, but a little harder to get to and not completely smooth (waves aren't too bad). Neat rock cropping to jump off of into the water to the right of the beach too and decent snorkeling. You'll need a jeep to get to this one through the Sun Bay entrance (not too far from the W. Balneario Sun Bayis much calmer and so is Media Luna, which is very shallow and calm. There are many more great beaches on Vieques, so it will be easy to find a great beach to enjoy. Also, there is a great taco stand in Esperanza

I think you would like Calle Media Luna. You can walk out pretty far without running into rocks.

For Vieques:

Balneario Sun Bay, Flamenco Beach, Red Beach, and all of those little off-road sites right by them.

There are some really good, high end places by you.  Also, I would try Trade Winds in Esperanza- wonderful food, beautiful small town area.

We stayed in Casablanca Hotel in Old San Juan. A really gorgeous boutique hotel. http://www.hotelcasablancapr.com

It is close to all the restaurants, walking distance to all the historical places.

Breakfast recommendation: Cafeteria Mallorca(http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafeteria-mallorca-san-juan)

Dinner recommendation: El Picoteo in Hotel El Convento. (http://www.elconvento.com/dining/dining-overview.aspx)

Highly recommend all the above places
