Vermont's most romantic retreat or B&B?

My husband and I will be travelling to the US for the time time mid October and we're most excited about Fall in VT!

I’d love some suggestions on the best experiences people have had in VT in terms of the B&B's / Retreats they've stayed at. (Looking for warm, rustic charm on lovely grounds, in an area that make a great base to explore surrounding towns from.)

Will also consider New Hampshire if that offers the best get away for 4 nights :-)
