Were are looking for luxury hotel recommendations for a family of 4 over June/July for 3 nights in Venice, Florence, and Tuscany. Thanks. Nothing to stuffy or old of that's possible.
We just got back from a 3 night stay in Venice at the Bauer Il Palazzo Location is GREAT and it's the only 5 star hotel in Venice that is still family owned (been in the family for generations) General manager is named Peitro (native Venetian). I reached out to him via email prior to our arrival and let him know we were coming and that we had some special considerations for our room. They took great care of us and even gave a solid upgrade to a canal view suite. If you hit him up, drop my name and that you're a big Trippy user... hopefully that will help. We went to a couple of Pietro's favorite restaurants too and although Venice isn't known for their food, both of these places were great. A beccafico (one a nice square) and Bancogiro (great view on the canal). We walked to both with two young kids (6 months and 3yrs) and each place had locals dining there... a rare site in Venice.
Check out some of the other answers on Venice questions too. There is some good stuff in trippy for Venice. Here is one that I asked that got some good tips. http://www.trippy.com/question/Venice-Best-food-in-Venice---no-reservations
