Hello i'm going to visit Venezia 26.09.16-02.10.16. Can you suggest places to visit, to eat delicious and not too expensive. Is it better to buy tourist card for using vaporetto if i stay in Lido di Venezia. What is the weather here in the end of september.
These are the must-visit places in Venice
To make sure you keep things quick, you could opt for a tavola calda joints selling hot, prepared foods near the Rialto Bridge
Mentioned in this answer:
you can take a one day card. it begins at the 1st time you use it - at 3pm for example -, so you can navigate in Venice for the rest of the day. The, the following day, on can use it to go to Murano and Burano!! no much italian live in Venic anymore... but you can find nice little places if you get lost in small streets ; try rice with black ink. You can alos buy fresh fishes right on the canal if you have a kitchen.. excellent!
Everyone must visit st marks square and see the cathedral and doges palace
Also the Rialto Bridge
The Lido is interesting if u have time
Take the vaporotto ( city bus/ boat) up and down the grand canal to see the sights cheaply
Eat away from the tourist areas or u will pay a fortune
Just wander around Allow your self to get lost in the back canals where people live. There are always signs back to st marks and the Rialto bridge
Go to st marks at night and sip coffee or eat gelato in the square. You will pay $20 for it but no one will expect you to move after you buy something and there is entertainment ( music) all night - singers musicians etc
Venice is magical. Especially at night. One of my favorite cities
