Where are the fun beach towns on the east coast boasting great restaurants, bars, and outdoor activities (golf etc.) that require very little, if any, transportation once there?
United States Maine (ME) New Hampshire (NH) Massachusetts (MA) Connecticut (CT) New Jersey (NJ)
Depends on what part of the East Coast you want to hit....
Best option I can think of in New England that has beaches, bars, restaurants, town, etc. all within walking distance is Newport -- and also is a good place for a bachelor party.
In the Mid-Atlantic, I would suggest Ocean City (Maryland), as it has it all (even more activities that Newport) and walking/transportation is easy. It's not the nicest/fanciest beach towns/area, but would probably be good for a bachelor party.
Further south, Myrtle Beach is a good option and seems to attract a lot of bachelor parties. Lots of golf courses and lots of activities. Plus, great beaches.
And then Miami Beach and South Beach are a great option for beach and activities/nightlife, though golf can be a bit of a drive.

Atlantic City is a great spot for a bachelor party on the beach. Not sure about golf courses, but it's a fun beach town by day, and mini Las Vegas by night. As for transportation, the main area with all the casinos and bars is pretty walkable.
Hi Patrick, Well the obvious place would be Atlantic Citylots of great casinos and nearby golf courses. There are a lot of great shore towns on Long Beach Island. Wildwood Crest is another great beach town. A huge beach and a fun boardwalk. Belmaris a popular beach town lots of bars and restaurants close to the beach.I'm a "senior" so it's been awhile since I've been bar hopping. I don't know if this was of any help.

I'd look into either Portland (Maine) or Portsmouth (New Hampshire), essentially a mini-Portland. Both are walk-able waterfront cities with a good food/bar scene. I'm not sure about golf near Portland, but there's a course just south of Portsmouth in Rye.

Portsmouth (New Hampshire), NH is awesome. Never golfed up there though. Newport, RI hands down is the best. Cape Cod but traffic is a nightmare in the summer.
Both casinos in CT have golf courses nearby and are close enough to the shoreline to hit some towns during the day and bars in casinos at night but the rooms are $$
Rhode Island is your best bet to find lots of things on or near beaches
