Courtney from Los Angeles asked

UAE for a solo female traveler?

I'm planning a trip for early next year that will involve a pretty long layover in Dubai so I'm thinking of just making a mini-trip out of it and scheduling a true stop there for about two or three days. Wondering what people think about a woman traveling solo in Dubai. Any reason to think this isn't wise? I really don't know much about the region.

Hi Courtney.

I have NO idea if any of this will help you, but here are some articles I have written on my time in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates

I hope they help and if you have any questions ask me.

Also I have a few friends and travelers in Dubai or live and work there that I can put you in contact with.

Well Dubai is different from other places in region. Its more open and welcoming. Only thing you should keep in mind is to keep your clothing modest. Its not an issue but avoid traveling alone at late night is not advisable. Otherwise i don't think there should be any problem while traveling alone in Dubai..... I know many expats females living alone in Dubai.

Have a great time here. Its a very fun place to visit :) If you are not sure where to go in Dubai. I guess this guide on my site can help you decide. :)

Thanks.
