Audrey from Toulouse, France asked

Looking for a cute affordable hotel for 2?

Hello,

My boyfriend and I will be in Ubud at the end of May and are looking for a hotel to stay. We don't want to spend more than $80/night and want something clean and charming as well as not too far from the center of Ubud.

Thanks!

Just back from Ubud 9 days ago.

I had great stay in Ubud at "Villa Cilinaya" on Jl. Raya Andong 2km away from Ubud Palace and city centre, 5min by car.

I paid 700,000IDR (55USD) per night per room. This small resort located on Ubud suburb with kitchen, pool and Bali garden. They have only 4 rooms and 1 pool villa. Bedroom is spacious, marble bathroom is clean and equipped with hot-cold shower.

Its neighborhood is local residences and shop houses selling handicrafts and home decoration items. There are food stalls, warungs, convenient store and French patisserie and cafe "White Box" where you can enjoy.

I booked via booking.com

My wife and I recently stayed at Pugig Homestay which is about 15 minutes walk to the heart of Ubud. A wonderful villa in a magical neighborhood.

Hi Audrey, check out Swasti Eco Cottages- with delicious (mostly vegetarian) food, beautiful grounds, great service, and tastefully appointed rooms.  It's one of my favorite spots but they fill up quickly so book far in advance...

We went in Ubud few years ago.

We didn't have any hotel booked. We took a chauffeur (so inexpensive!) for the afternoon and went directly to the hotels to negociate and visit the rooms.

We've ended up in a cute little hotel and basically fixed our own rate (25$) per night for 2 pax.

It had a beautiful swimming pool we used at night and a cute terrace we had drinks at after that.

Unfortunately I don't remember the name.

But don't hesitate to go and negotiate.
