Tuscany

Looking for a village with restaurants and cafes

Looking for a one-week rental in Tuscany located in or very close to a small town or village that offers good dining and cafés. We want to be part of a community rather than a touristy city.

Hi Jonathan!

I would recommend either Volterra or Poppi. They are both smaller villages in which you feel a strong sense of community. And, if you ever want the vibe of a bigger place, they are close to cities like Arezzo and Siena -two Italian jewels!

I hope this helps!

Safe travels! :)

I second Volterra. San Gimignano is probably a little too popular, but it's a beautiful tiny village on a hill that would be wonderful for a week-long stay.

I also really love Lucca. It's surrounded by old city walls that you can walk on top of and beside in the green space park areas around the town. It's beautiful, relaxed, and small, yet big enough that you won't see the entire town in a day, so there will be plenty to keep you busy.

Hi, I recommend our farm house Fattoria di Statiano, only half an hour from the stunning  Volterra, that is rich with small and lovely café or winery like La Vena di Vinoand a lovely ice cream shop like chich and chock or at 15 minutes the top hill Lombard castle of  Montegemoliwhere this year in June there will be the festival M'arteand you can eat local at the Osteria dell'Ultimo Carbonaio, or decide to go to spend an evening listening at one of the piano Festival concerts in Querceto, or have a wonderful coffee in Ponteginori Stazione Fs at bar Bettiin Ponteginori.
