Looking for family friendly activities / destinations, interested in where to eat, tips on island transportation -- AND which nearby islands are best to visit. We already have accommodations, so less interested in hotels -- but share if there are any must-sees!
We'll be there for 8 days in January.
We visited Tortola for only about half a day or so.
We went to Brewers Bay Beach on the north side of the island first thing in the morning. It's a beautiful location with some good snorkeling opportunities and it doesn't seem to get too crowded (we had the beach to ourselves for about an hour). It's fun to watch the pelicans fly around and dive for fish.
There is only one place to eat there called Nicoles Beach Bar situated right on the corner of the beach. They seem to open late morning and serve some decent (and cheap) bar food as well as some good drinks.
We took a taxi there and back. If I went back I would do the same instead of driving myself. The roads were a little rough with a lot of steep terrain.

We are going in January also for our first time. What dates are you going to be there? :)
We are staying at the west end of the island at Long Bay Beach Club.
