I'm taking my parents to Windsor on a road trip from Toronto. Does anyone know any alternative route to avoid the 401 and fun things to do en route? Thank you

i took Via rail from Burlington (Canada) to Windsor (Ontario) last October
...i saw a small town called Lakeshore...it looks very interesting.
