Hi fellow travellers !
Can anyone share any sunset shots they have taken on your travels? I take them where ever I can, Anyone like me do the same?
Hi Sandra,
My best sunset was one early June evening at Mweelrea in the West of Ireland. It was (and often is) spectacular. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera - the memory is in my head.
I love seeing sunsets abroad and photographing them! Here's one from Boracay Island that I took last month.
And this one is from Costa Rica near Manuel Antonio.
I've had the pleasure of witnessing a lot of amazing sunsets... my first on water in Cozumel but I've witnessed many others such as the Grand Canyon National Park, Key West, St John's, Imperial Beachand Hawaii. I also watched a sunrise and sunset in the same day in Kaua'i! I don't have all the pics but here are a couple...
Sunset Key from Key West
Cruz Bay view from the villa I stayed in...
A unique view of Waikiki during a sunset...
a classic over the water sunset from Imperial Beach

I think I get a little carried away with sunsets. I live in L.A., so I'm biased to Southern California sunsets, but some of the best I've seen have honestly been in the Pacific Northwest and Southern Africa (I know, two extremes). I've published a number of them on my blog (http://www.whiskeytangoglobetrot.com). Below are a few of my favorites.
Botswana from Chobe Game Lodge
Costa Rica at Gulf of Papagayo.
Seattle at Pike Place Market.

Siesta Key has an amazing sunset... If ever in Florida, this is the place for sunsets. Boca Grande is pretty spectacular as well...
Best sunset I've ever seen was in and near Casa Conde Del Mar in Costa Rica. There are long stretches of road to pull over and take a picture, beaches to take a kayak and watch the sunset. See my pictures when I was there for multiple days. This one is actually a sunrise but just as breathtaking.
One of the best sunsets I've seen was at Beiruthttps://instagram.com/cigdemtura/
We remarked that, on our cruise, we photographed plenty of sunrises, but hadn't seen many sunsets ... mainly because we were usually at dinner when they happened.
But, when we sat this one through the dining room window ,,, everyone rushed outside, dinner temporarily forgotten.
Even the maitre d' rushed out with his iPhone. And, as it happened, I had my camera handy!

A few years ago [2012], I made a New Years Eve resolution to myself to take pictures of sunsets all year long. The results are from all over San Diego County, where I live, and one or two from Illinois. More than 35 shots of different locations.
You can see them here (the settings are public, so feel free to comment or 'like' if you want): A year of Sunsets
Hi Sandra, the sunsets in the beach spot of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua were incredible! Here's one we captured when we were there!
We were also lucky to see some lovely sunsets on the beautiful Gili Islands near Bali in Indonesia...
You can see lots more sunset pics on our instagram account at: https://instagram.com/WorldlyNomads/ :-)

Manila Bay is one of the best - unfortunately I do not have any pictures.
Acadia, Rhode Island, Victoria Island - Here's my picture of Rhode Island- sunset.
For me, watching the sun set from the top of Mount Shasta (California) was the best but it is not a place that is easily accessible. I also lived in Yosemite National Park for 8-years so there are a dozen or more places inside the park, like from the top of Half Dome, that I will never forget. I also have fond memories of going to watch the sun set at Mallory square (picture) in Key West. Not only is the scenery outstanding, but the atmosphere and celebration add to the moment.

Queensland has LOADS of awesome sunset and sunrise locations. We've given a list of spots for the Gold Coast and Brisbane- but there's plenty more out there as well (including star trails)!
