I've never been to The Woodlands and I'm a little overwhelmed by all the hotel options. I'd like to stay in a hotel that is central and gives me good sense of what The Woodlands is like. I'd love to know where locals tell their friends to stay when they visit, and why those areas and hotels are special. thanks!
You should stay at Hyatt Market Street, The Woodlands, Embassy Suites Houston-Downtown (brand new) or the Marriott Waterway all centrally located!

Hey Katie. Any hotels along The Woodlands Waterway are going to be great places to stay. The are very centralized and gives you a good sense of what there is to do there. A couple that standout are Hyatt Market Street, The Woodlands, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, or Hilton Garden Inn Houston/The Woodlands , but any hotels along The Waterway or by the Mall (think in-between Woodlands Parkway and Lake Woodlands Drive) will be very accessible to many bars (The Goose's Acre, Baker St. Pub & Grill), restaurants (Américas Woodlands, Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Guadalajara Hacienda), shopping and entertainment options. There's a movie theater, outdoor concert pavilion (The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, outdoor shopping, indoor traditional shopping mall, and a lot more. Hope this helps!

Grogan's Mill area and The Woodlands Mall area. It is near the Mall and Freeway! There are hotels/motels in and around the Mall area. Lots of restaurants near the Mall and Market Street. Have fun! Google The Woodlands Township, Texas. They should have a lot of info on The Woodlands.
