What was your ticket price - USA West Coast to Bangkok?

I live in Portland, Or and am planning a trip to Thailand in early November 2015. I'm wondering what others have paid for round trip tickets to Bangkok from the West Coast. I don't know what a "good price" is.

Thanks for your help!

Last April I bought Asiana tickets (loved them) for about $1,300 from LAX to Bangkok for a December trip. Given I was flying from LA, and during their busy time/Christmas, I think you could probably find something cheaper. I'd be anxious to hear what you find! I'm already ready to plan a trip back!

Check out Hipmunk, you'll get an idea of different prices, then call the airlines for a better price!!!

Pull up Momondo.com, calc the fare you want, then get an email trigger going. Remember that BKK is not your only option - Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are equally good gateways to move to/from // sidetrip to BKK on Air Asia may still make dollar sense. Many ways to slice the cake. Also build fare from SEA ... not PDX.

Hope that helps.

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. Singapore (country)
  2. Kuala Lumpur (city)

Update: My fiance and I bought tickets from PDX to Bangkok for $847 a piece. I feel great about this price, I've seen them dip as low as $800 but they came with a 47 hour return flight.

The tickets are from Portland>Seattle>Soul North, Korea>Bangkok and run around 20 hours.

I hope this helps others trying to understand what others have payed.

$650 round trip from SFO to BKK for a trip in February 2016!! (Booked in November.) But think we just got really lucky. And the catch is the overnight layover in Tokyo but we were excited about that- using it to do a quick whirlwind tour of Shinjuku/Shibuya & Tsukiji - Gindaco (Esplanade) fish market.

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. Shinjuku (metro area)
  2. Shibuya (metro area)
  3. Tsukiji - Gindaco (Esplanade) (restaurant)
