Looking for some places to checkout when I visit for a potential long term stay, so I'm not really going there to do a lot of sight-seeing.
Need to know if I could thrive there speaking only English (presently) with decent modern conveniences, medical care availability, reasonably low crime, coastal or mountains and fairly low cost of living.
I've had my eye on Phuket for a while, but haven't actually visited yet, so I'm sure there are alternatives. Suggestions?
Also, if I wanted to go from Bali to Thailand, what's the best airport/airline to fly in?
Chiang Mai is the first choice, considering from cost of living, infrastructure, weather, transportations, food, health care and entrepreneur community.
Pai, Koh Samui, Phuket, Pattaya and Hua Hin are lack of some factors I mention above.
From Balito Thailand, there is only one direct low cost flight by Air Asia, Denpasar- Don Muang Airport (Bangkok).

I really think that Chiang Mai is affordable with great accommodation for soloprenuers work offices. There are great food markets close to the mountains.
Phuket International Airport is very busy place with European tourist and too hot I stayed for 2 days but I took a fast boat and headed over to Krabi is really chill place to live. If your looking for a fun time to relax then I suggest Koh Samui Lamai Beachis a great area on the island with great restaurants and clubs.
Cheap flights Air Asia really great prices.. Check out Travel Fish it's a great resource for traveling anywhere in SE Asia
