Best free things to do in Tallahassee?

I'm going to be in Tallahassee next month and will be on a pretty tight budget. I'm looking for the best free and inexpensive things to check out! I love the outdoors, art, museums, you name it. Thanks!

The Tallahassee Museum is a good place to start.

The Florida State Capitol is also a museum.

1. Florida State Capitol top floor. Nice view of the city and then to the old Capitol building where you will see the History of Florida.

2. Mission San Luis

3. Wakulla Springs  is located 14 miles (23 km) south of Tallahassee.

Local residents and visitors from all over the world enjoy this first magnitude spring for its beautiful diverse wildlife, deep water spring and swimming area, river boat tour.

Wakulla Springs State Park is designated a National Historic and Archaeological District and a National Natural Landmark.

Wakulla Springs is pretty cool, about 30-45 south of Tallahassee.  If you've never seen alligators or manatees, you could take their boat ride and probably see lots or you could rent a kayak or canoe from TNT Hideaway and I usually see a few of each along the way..  As far as museums and art, Tallahassee is lacking a bit in those areas.  The Tallahassee Museum is an outdoor museum with some local animals, but I'm sure there are much more interesting things in California.  This is the state capital but not much in culture.  They do sometimes have free concerts at the new Cascades Park on Friday evenings., but would need to look up there schedule.

Cascades Park downtown, a lot of free or very inexpensive classical music performances at FSU Music Department venues (Opperman Music Hall), Lake Ella, buy a Friday Tallahassee Democrat for the Limelight section for a list of all free music events at bars, restaurants, outdoors, etc.
