Heading to Tacoma and I'm looking for the best restaurants to try while I'm visiting. Open to all types of food! What are your top places to eat?

Pomodoro Italian Restaurant & Bar is awesome...in the North end/Proctor District with some cute shops.  http://www.pomodoroproctor.com/

Or, if you want a water view, check out any of the restaurants on Ruston Way: Duke's Chowder House (seafood), The Lobster Shop (seafood), Ram Restaurant & Brewery (sports bar), Katie Downs Waterfront Tavern (Pizza) - they are easily accessible.

Or, check out Anthony's At Point Defiance (water view, watch ferries to and from Vashon Island, and great food):  https://www.anthonys.com/restaurants/detail/anthonys-at-point-defiance

Enjoy!

Here are some of my favorites: Indo Asian Street Eatery (for fusion/tapas style asian food - they have an amazing coconut cocktail!), Asado Restaurant (is an Argentine steak house, amazing!), and Pacific Grill (for the best happy hour small plates- this is American style food). If it is sunny out, Try Duke's Chowder House (its a chain but its right on the water and such an awesome spot to hang out at - and seafood is very good!)

The Lobster Shop is, hands down, my favorite. It is along the waterfront so you can't beat the view and the seafood is great. If you happen to be here during Copper River Salmon season you won't have a better meal.

Top of Tacoma Bar & Cafe  - it is a bar in a gritty neighborhood with great food.  It is a gathering spot for politicians, blue collar workers, professionals, and neighbors.  It is the epitome of Tacoma - gritty, but friendly and communal.

I'm a student and Silk Thai Cafe is heaven! There is Wild Orchid but I have had some friends get sick from the food so wouldn't recommend it :$

Trappers Sushi is a nice low-key, inexpensive sushi place, and if you want comfort food (Italian/American-style) Rosewood Cafe is great too. If you're looking for fancier try Indochine- fantastic ambience and even better food! Those are some of my tops :)
