I am assuming that speed is more of interest than stops.  If you take the western route from Syracuse (New York) the halfway point is about Elizabethtown (Kentucky) (10.5 hours).  The rest of the way to Morgan City will be about 10.75 hours.  This route is just slightly faster than the eastern route where the halfway point would be between Roanoke and Knoxville

Hi Nanette,

It's almost 1,500 miles from Syracuse (New York) to Morgan City LA. It's doable in two days, which means you have just one overnight stop. My questions to you are:

1. How many drivers do you have?

2. Do you plan to stop along the way to visit places of interest?

Check out Trippy's sample itinerary for a drive from Syracuse to Morgan City, with stops in Cleveland, Columbus, Louisville, Nashville, Birmingham (Alabama), Meridian and New Orleans. Here is the link:

We did Tampa to Syracuse a few years ago (1,274 miles apart) for four days, making three stops along the way.
