Itinerary for 6 days in sydney

Hi all,

I will be staying 6 days in Sydney in Sept and would like to know what I can do to explore? I am planning days roaming in the city area around circular quay etc. and day trips to blue mountain, hunter valleys. Any more recommendations? Travelling out of sydney to other areas such as Melbourne sounds expensive though so I might just stay put in Sydney and it's outskirts. It seems like there's many things to explore in Blue Mountain and I would also want to visit Jenolan cave, is it possible to complete in one day with a guided tour?

Many thanks!!

Hey there

September is a great time to visit Sydney as the weather will be warming up and you'll get lots of sunshine.

The Blue Mountains is a must. It might be difficult seeing both the blue mountains and Jenolan Cavesin one day but not impossible.

Suggest you take a ferry over to Manly one day and check out that area and the beach there. Also head out to Bondi Beach.

Fish and chips at Watsons Bay is also great and you can get a ferry there too.

For great views, do a Sydney Harbour bridge climb.

The Rocks is a nice area to explore and there are nice markets there on the weekends.

Hope you enjoy my home city!

Great tips, Jen! I wanted to let you know that we've helped you geo-tag the places that you mentioned in your answer so that they appear on a map next to it. Check it out! You can also do this yourself in future answers by simply typing the @-symbol and then the name of the place as you're typing your answer. Cheers :)

Sounds like you have some pretty good ideas. We would agree with Jen and her suggestions - Blue Mountains is not impossible in one day but it would be tiring! We did a day trip there only a few months back (driving ourselves) and we managed to fit in one guided tour of the caves! But that was pretty much it. If you wanted to see 3 Sisters in Katoomba well, you may want to have a really early start to be sure to get around to the places you want in the Blue Mountains - In Sydney itself, there is Harbour Bridge Climb Royal Botanic Gardens - you could catch a ferry over to Taronga Zoo , if you like history, then you may want to visit Q Station or Government House

September is a lovely time of year to visit :) Have fun! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask or email us!
