I'm visiting Spain this September for one week and want to know what would be the best cities to not miss over the week I am there.
If you have 7 days on the ground I would pick one or two cities in a specific region of Spain. You don't want to spend your entire time hopping on and off of trains, planes, or buses. It's expensive and does not allow you to relax and breathe in the people, culture, and beauty of Spain.
You could do Madrid with several day trips to Toledo, Segoviaand Salamanca. You could do Andalucía and visit Seville, Cordoba (Spain), and Granada. You could do San Sebastian, Bilbao, Pamplona, Rioja wine valley Lastly, you could do Barcelona and visit Figueres and Cadaqués, Province of Girona or Sitges.
Each region offers different and wonderful things. Study up and make your choice by food, culture, museums, architecture, or the landscape you want to see. Whichever region you choose, you can't go wrong. You will be inspired to return to all of the other places mentioned above.
