I will be traveling to Reno/ Lake Tahoe in the beginning of December and I'm having a tough time figuring out where to stay. I would like to stay between 100-150.00 a night. Any suggestions? I have looked at the Hyatt and Harrahs but wanted to try something maybe a little less corporate. Not much of a skier so I'm trying to stay away from big ski lodges.

How about renting a house? Lots of rentals at Lake Tahoe in every price range. Try VRBO. In December, (especially if it is over the holidays) you might have a hard time finding a nice hotel, or a house, in your price range, though in South Lake Tahoe there are lots of motels which I am sure you can find for that price if you are not too picky.
We really loved Basecamp Hotel. It's right next door to Harrah's. Super clean, hipster feel. Micro brews on tap at their tiny bar. Has a view of the Heavenly ski lift from the hot tub. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants. Good luck!
